SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE!

The 2024 National Rally will run from 5th to 7th April 2024 at THE HAYES CONFERENCE CENTRE, SWANWICK, DE55 1AT and will be hosted by the North West Region of HRGB.
Our aim is to attract “first timers”, as well as those who have supported this event for many years, and we are planning to provide plenty of enjoyable learning opportunities for new and less experienced, as well as more advanced ringers.

THE PROGRAMME

Friday evening– social time, plus “Teams In The Spotlight” - a rally ringing session giving teams the chance to perform in an informal setting.

Saturday– Each ringer will take part in four workshops – two separately themed Masterclasses, a Read and Ring and a classroom-based session. The three “hands-on” sessions will be organised so that everyone, from beginners to proficient ringers, will have a chance to improve their ringing at their own level and experience something new. The Annual General Meeting of HRGB and the evening Concert will also take place on Saturday.

Sunday morning– After an optional act of worship, everyone will join together for a full Massed Ringing session.

Music will be sent out in advance for Massed Ringing and the Saturday Masterclass sessions, so ringers can mark it up or put it into their preferred notation.

ACCOMMODATION

We are offering accommodation for the whole weekend, from Friday dinner to Sunday lunch. All rooms have ensuite facilities - most are double, but there is no single supplement!! There are also a limited number of twin or family rooms, for those who wish to share. Alternatively, members may come as day guests for the Saturday and Sunday – there is plenty of local accommodation, including Travelodge and Premier Inn, both within 5 miles of the venue.
We cannot guarantee more than 200 places, so get your booking in early!

Our Region

The North West Region is part of Handbell Ringers of Great Britain, whose aim is to promote tune ringing on handbells by organising activities and providing support and advice for its members.

The Region covers Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, parts of Derbyshire and West Yorkshire, North Wales, the Isle of Man and Ireland.

Our activities are organised for members of the Region, but there’s a warm welcome for prospective members so if you would like to try out one of our events, contact our Secretary, Irene Merson.
